The principal of the firm, David, has lived and worked in Papua New Guinea for over 40 years. His professional journey began as the manager of an international firm of chartered accountants, where he gained valuable expertise in audit and business services. In the years that followed, he established himself as the principal of Guinn Accountants, where he continues to lead the firm with a deep commitment to delivering high-quality services to clients across various industries.
David is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and is a registered auditor, liquidator, public accountant, and tax agent in Papua New Guinea. His extensive qualifications also include being a Fellow of the Papua New Guinea Certified Practising Accountants and a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, further underscoring his professional standing and expertise in the field.
As the principal of the firm, David is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service delivery to the firm’s clients, helping them navigate complex financial and business challenges.
David’s contributions to both the business and the community have been widely recognised. In 1994, he was awarded the honour of becoming a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his service. His commitment was further acknowledged in the 2006 Australia Day honours when he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal. In 2014, David received the Companion of the Order of the Star of Melanesia, reflecting his distinguished service to Papua New Guinea and the region.
David has been a permanent resident of Papua New Guinea since 1980, and in December 2018, he became a dual citizen of both Papua New Guinea and Australia, further solidifying his long-standing connection to the country.”
